Designing a new web-based service concept and integrated data solution tool for WWF Greenoffice

The Problem
The Solution
Green Office provides feedbacks for their 'Consumer Habit Questionnaire' as an excel file through emails- which had low open rates and it was reported that the clients were not utilizing the feedbacks. WWF recognized it as a design problem and wanted us- 'to reinvent the experience of the Consumer habit questionnaire data' for the stakeholders in the company.
Leveraging design thinking principles, we designed a multi-purpose integrated web-based data solution tool, with several format exportability-functions, as a feedback summary- within the Greenoffice Environmental Management System. The tool would combine the questionnaire data and real-time usage data from the companies giving more meaningful and actionable insights for internal stakheholders.
The Process
The project was finished in 3 design sprints. We started the 1st sprint with research. We used qualitative user-research in form of semi-structured interviews and conducted benchmarking by reviewing the ways other questionnaires or environmental management systems give feedback.
In summary, the findings were that the current users indeed find the current excel feedback confusing, and utilize only key figures from it, such as the answering percentage and total score. The most often mentioned use-case was internal communication.
The solution we came up with for the problem is a web-based dashboard with the data represented in a way that is in line with what we found in user research, and that would allow the user to download different metrics as ready-made materials for internal communications.
The solution was developed in several iterations by making changes based on feedback from the client. The final iteration was developed after user testings, feedback & heuristic evaluation. The user-testing was used to validate the design choices, and find problems in the design.
